Empowering Minds, Preserving Heritage

Jhumlawang village is home to nearly 1,000 residents across diverse ethnic communities who have lived side by side in harmony for generations. For decades, geographic isolation and limited access to educational resources have kept the village disconnected from modern learning opportunities.

The Jhumlawang Public Library was conceived to bridge this gap. Established as an open, inclusive learning hub within our community infrastructure, the library serves as a vital bridge connecting our children, youth, and elders to literature, modern knowledge, and the digital world.

Core Pillars of the Library

  • Digital Learning & Internet Connectivity: Access to a dedicated computer corner with high-speed internet, opening doors to research, vocational tools, and global learning platforms for students and educators.
  • Curated Book Collection: A diverse repository of primary and secondary school textbooks, reference volumes, Nepali literature, indigenous folk history, and international educational materials.
  • Adult Literacy & Evening Reading Programs: Safe, quiet spaces for working adults to attend foundational literacy classes and evening reading circles after their daily work is done.
  • Children’s Creative Corner: Age-appropriate picture books, educational puzzles, and storytelling sessions designed to nurture reading habits and curiosity early in life.
  • Daily News & Information Desk: Daily newspapers, periodicals, and development journals to keep community members informed on national events, agricultural techniques, and public health updates.
  • Community Study & Workshop Space: Dedicated seating for students preparing for national exams, quiet study, and community-led educational workshops.
